The world’s best bagels are found exclusively in New York City, but one iconic brand is ready to bring their baked goods out of state.

H&H Bagels, a Manhattan favorite since 1972, has announced the launch of a national franchise program! For this first time in its 50-year history, H&H plans to expand its fast casual bagel concept to the top 50 U.S. metro markets.

Currently, H&H Bagels has four New York locations, offering nationwide shipping and global wholesale to cater to New York bagel enthusiasts outside of the five boroughs. Through the pandemic, H&H Bagels experienced nearly 500% growth in its nationwide shipping business and almost 400% growth in its global wholesale business. People stuck at home want their bagels!

“Since the 1970’s, H&H Bagels has grown to be an iconic brand, enjoyed by people from around the world,” said Jay Rushin, Chief Executive Officer of H&H Bagels. “Entering into the franchise business is a monumental moment for us, as we look to identify and work with like minded entrepreneurs who want to bring a premium New York City bagel experience to cities across the country.”

In addition to its daily fresh baked bagels, H&H Bagels is known for its bagel sandwiches, topped with house made spreads, griddled-to-order eggs, and, of course, smoked salmon.

First open on Manhattan’s Upper West Side in 1972, H&H Bagels expanded crosstown to the Upper East Side in 1974. A new team took over in 2014, expanding the beloved bagel eatery’s presence to JFK Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Moynihan Train Hall. Because what better welcome (or departure) gift to New York is there than a fresh made bagel?

Franchisees will receive in-depth training to produce the H&H Bagels experience for local customers, and the brand will help with site selection, store construction, marketing and brand building, along with opening launch support.
