There’s just no bagel like a New York City bagel… but if it’s been a little while since you’ve made a visit, here’s some enticing news: One Manhattan bakery that holds a place in the hearts of millions is making a revolutionary move, as they’re about to bring New York City bagels closer to you.

H&H Bagels has locations on both the Upper East and Upper West sides, as well as a shop in both LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy international airports. The H&H Bagels website suggests a new location is soon going in at Penn Station… but for H&H fans who aren’t in proximity of New York, H&H is “officially announcing its first franchise program in company history,” according to QSR.

QSR reports that the current NYC locations will remain owned by H&H’s corporation, but “franchisees will primarily lead the brand into other states.” Further, H&H Bagels isn’t eyeing specific territories to move into—instead, they’re “targeting the best franchisee candidates . . . [T]hey might be a multi-unit operator looking to add a new brand to their portfolio or a first-time franchisee looking to start a new career.”

CEO Jay Rushin said he believes H&H Bagels is uniquely positioned to become the New York City bagel brand for the country to watch for. “The food world is gravitated toward higher-quality, better-for-you products, and our products are all-natural, no preservatives, and authentic New York bagels. There’s no one else that can compete with us on that product.”

QSR reminds us that over the years, H&H Bagels has been featured on the “Festivus” episode of Seinfeld, as well as The Office and Sex and the City, when Carrie delivers a bag of bagels to Miranda.

In the “About Us” section of the H&H Bagels website, the brand adds that their products have also been featured in productions like You’ve Got MailHow I Met Your Mother, and Entourage.
